Starting a new job is always exciting. You’re never sure what to expect.
I woke-up this morning, earlier than I probably should have. And, instead of rushing out the door, which is my norm, I had tons of time on my hand. I didn’t know what to do. There was no fighting the downtown traffic and not once did I have a bout of road rage. Granted, my hours are a bit later, only by 30 minutes, but it makes a huge difference now that I don’t have to worry about getting a good parking spot. I’m assigned a spot where I work now, and unfortunately, it’s not right in my building (they’re over-capacity), but I’m not complaining cause I no longer have to pay for it.
It will take some getting use to having so much time in the morning now. I’ll probably start exercising in the morning from now on. Commuting only 20 minutes to work is awesome. I’ll also have to get use to being in a cubicle again, since I’ve been in offices for the past 3 years, but that’s alright with me. Considering all the travel I’ll be doing for the year, I won’t be spending that much time at my desk. If they give you a laptop instead of a desktop on your first day of work, that’s a pretty good indication that you’ll be traveling a lot. I’m just glad they didn’t give me a crackberry aka Blackberry. Continue reading
